Is it possible to lead life with out heart hole(ASD) operation who crossed 35 years? |
heart surgery is required or not?for a cong.heart ASD defects @ 35 years? i hope so. surgery is never required unless something is wrong. if you are health and living a good life there is no need to jeopardize your life for a surgery you don't need right not. I just found out that i have a hole in my heart a few weeks ago and my Doctor just wants to monitor my hole and make sure it isn't gettin bigger, if it does not change then there is no need for surgery. So i guess it just depends on the size of the hole, and if you are having problems. Report It Possible but at what level of quality? Best thing to do is to investigate all avenues of healing. Conventional medicine has its place but when a doctor looks at you and admits openly that they can't do much more than make you comfortable as you die, its time to look at other methods. Try glycoscience.org Yes you could lead a normal life but till when is the question.ASD maybe asymptomatic and can remain silent till adulthood. It is usually detected by chance or when there is too big an ASD that it becomes symptomatic. When the person becomes symptomatic its best he is taken up for surgery. The defect causes a lot of problems like recurrent pulmonary infection, heart failure, arrhythmias, paradoxical embolization, rarely infective endocarditis. The surgery can be undertaken when the patients lung is in good condition and has not gone in for pulmonary hypertension. As the person ages the heart undergoes changes also;he may develop coronary artery heart disease or right heart failure because of the persistent volume overload to that chamber of the heart - making the operation complicated. In my opinion if you have been detected to have an ASD after u approached a doctor for complaints of recurrent lower respiratory tract infection, breathlessness on exertion, cyanosis and syncope;then surgery would be ideal on consultation with a cardiothoracic surgeon after a few tests like the Echocardiography to assess -type of ASD,the shunt (>2:1),any other coexisting cardiac lesions; Cardiac catheterization for assessment of various pressure gradients and assessment of any other comorbidities. |
