Infant heart murmur? |
My daughter has a heart murmur so we were sent to a pediatric cardiologist. She had her first appointment and during the exam the doctor said she has a abnormal valve and her blood pressure is low in the lower body. He is sending us for a echocardiogram. The electrocardiogram is normal. He did not say what he suspects but does this sound like coarctation of the aorta? What other defects have these signs? If your daughter had coarctation of the aorta then it would have shown up on the echo. Check out WebMD. Its a great site for medical info. My doctor discovered my sons heart murmur when he was about 4 months old. after having an electrocardiogram nothing turned up. we went for an echo and discovered he has a bicuspid aortic valve (the aortic valve which normally has three leafs that open and close to allow blood to flow through only has two leafs.) And can cause stinosis (narrowing of the valve. |
