I suffered heart attack now major portion of left ventricle is scar tissue what exercises can I do now? |
I suffered heart attack and a clot was removed with Urokinase. subsequently stento plasty was done on LAD. after a month thallium scan was done which revealed that large area of moderate to severe fixed perfusion defect (predominantly scarred myocardium) involving apex, apico-inferiou,, apical, mid ventricular and basal segments of anterior wall, antero-septal and infero-septal regions. I have been asked to do 30 minutes exercises atleast three times a week. which type of exercises are safe. besides exercises can I do walking and if so how long and at what speed? Ask your doctor or physical therapist before beginning any new activity. They may recommend low intensity cardio workouts such as swimming or walking. You really should ask a licensed physical therapist or an M.D. of some kind. Don't ask on here!!! I would think their purpose for exercising is to increase heart contracture, therefore building up that muscle. Go to your cardiac rehab facility. This is NOT the place for serious advice especially about something like this. |
