Heart Attack- Heart Specialists read?

My mom is 43 years old and she just recently had a massive heart attack. She is a non-smoker, works out everyday, is at her correct weight, has low cholesterol and blood pressure. And there is no history. After the hear attack they have her on alot of medicine epecially to keep her blood thin. It has been 5 months since the heart attack and she has been having alot more chest pain and was taking 5-6 nitro a day. We went back in and they did alot of tests and everything came back perfect. They did another heart Cath to check on things and there was 50% blockage in the LAD again .. the same one they cleared out 5 months ago. So in 5 months it went from 0% blockage to 50% blockage even with eating very very healthy still walking 3 miles a day and continuing all of the medicine she is suppose to be on. The doctors have know Idea why she had the heart attack in the 1st place and are not sure why its continuing to block. So I turn to you .... any Ideas ? Anyone else been through this

Well it sounds like it is familial, this is because she has no risk factors for a heart attack, especially because she has a good diet, exercises everyday, has good blood pressure and is in her proper BMI. The fact that her cholesterol is at normal levels and she doesn't smoke makes this a very odd case. The pain she has recently been having is an angina, that was proved with the catheter. It would be interesting to know what her HS-CRP, LDL, Triglycerides, and HDL were. Stress and Alcohol also have correlations with atherosclerosis. The first step of atherosclerosis is the development of fatty streaks, which are small sub endothelial deposits of oxidized cholesterol and monocyte-derived macrophages. The exact cause for this process is unknown, and fatty streaks may appear and disappear, but in your mother's case, it stays there and attracts 'immunity help' from other WBC's, these stay and collect on top of the cholesterol and platelets. In the case of the arteries being 50% blocked within 5 months, its entirely possible, although in most cases, this process takes a much longer time (several decades) to develop to the stage it is at. Stress testing periodically can show how much the artery is blocked over a period of time, this may help in your mother's case.
