Possible Heart Attack?

I've always been stressed out since I was like 13. Been through a lot of bad experiences. Anyway, could the stress have caught up to me so much to make me have a heart attack?

The last three days I've been extremely stressed. I have a history of exercise induced asthma. I thought I was having asthma attacks but the pain is getting worse. It's all in my chest. It feels like someone is performing cpr on me or something. Plus my arms and hands have almost a "numb" feeling or cold feeling. And it's hard to breathe. Could it just be an anxiety attack or a heart attack?

by your avatar, i take it you are a woman. based on your statement, i take it you are not really old (still menstruating). young woman who has no known heart disease are very unlikely to have heart problem. unless you are a smoker, use birth control, have diabetes, have high blood pressure, and have family member who had heart attack at young age, i would not worry about it much. in fact, i would stop worrying so much, which is probably your problem.

having said all that, if you are that concerned, go see a doctor, do a stress test. i would be more inclined to seek help if your symptoms get worse when you exercise (run, lift heavy weights, go up the stairs, etc).

sounds like angina or heart attack seek help asap.

I am not sure you would classify it as a heart attack - sounds more like your circulation is way off and in addition to a anxiety attack...wow...You need to talk to your doctor about anti anxiety drugs soon.

It could just be stress related...i think if you were having a heart attack you wouldn't be on the computer. Of course since i'm not a doctor and you are talking about your heart...i think you should have someone drive you to the emergency room RIGHT NOW. If it isn't a heart attack they will be able to see the rhythm of your heart which may lead them to the cause. My best guess is that if you have been under that much stress it is all stress related and you need to start controlling that stress or find away of dealing with better. I hope everything is okay!

I've had a small heart attack and I've had anxiety attacks in the past. When I had my small heart attack it was a very severe crushing pain, where I felt like if I moved I would die. the arms numbness bad sign. My suggestion take some Bayer aspirin seriously and go to the Er. better safe then sorry. Good luck
