Heart attack stint. my dad had severe heart attack today and had a stent put in.?

This is his second heart attack and after the surgery he was in ICU at the hospital. All of a sudden his heart started acting up. The monitor was going crazy. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what could have caused this. The doctor said he didn't understand it. Do you think he'll be okay?

I don't know, but one time I watched a doc putting a stent in a 90 some year old guy and they poked a hole in one of the tiny veins in his heart while doing it (accidently). It is some sort of wire that goes up thru there and the veins are thin tissue. It was showing blood leaking into his chest on the monitor screen. The doctor called in his colleague and said "What do I do? I don't want to have to do open heart surgery on him later"...the other doctor said "Nothing you can do but wait and watch for awhile and see if it clears itself up..". The man was on valium and only relaxed, not asleep. I don't know how much of this he took in. I hope this is not what happened to your dad. It could be a zillion other things and I don't think this happens every day in surgery, but it can happen in surgery that things can go wrong. Older people's tissues are thinner and frailer than most younger people.

After a heart attack, the heart is very prone to arrhythmias --- basically an irregular rhythm. Also, I have seen the heart go into an irregular rhythm during and after stent placement. Your father should remain in the CCU until his condition stabilizes.

Bypass, angioplasty or stent are all of temporary solution and not permanent. There is no guarantee that blockage will not take place again. There are cases where a patient had to undergo second time bypass surgery. Let your father get stabilised first. After discharge, consult a good ayurvedic physician and take treatment so that he will have permanent cure. There are capsules such as Rudved, Cardoved, Suved, hridayarnava ras etc. which are quite effective and need not take beyond 4 to 6 months. You will get the details in google searvh engine.
