Can a heart attack come from anxiety? |
I've had anxiety attacks/panic attacks almost my whole life. If anyone has this they know what i'm talking about. Last night was the worst attack i've ever had. I literally felt that i was going to die. I started panicking thinking nothing or nobody can help me. Then i started feeling weak and light headed, i could not breathe, that's when i started panicking more. Then i started feeling like i was paralized like every move i made was like sooo exhausting like i've ran miles. I was totally out of breathe. My heart was beating sooo fast i thought it was going to come out of my chest. Then i started deep breathing and thinking of the most important things to me my kids my family, i came back too. My chest is sore today but does it sound like a heart attack to you all? ~absolutly it can! that's also where the phraze "scared to death" comes from. but also, fear is from satan. Its his best tool. and no one can control it but you. seriously, why do you allow yourself to loose control like that? You did not have a heart attack. I heard a man once died of a heart attack when his doctor surprised him by telling him his heart was fine. Go figure. Also, go to the doctor. No, I think you would have known if you had a heart attack. Anxiety does cause heart attacks, if I'm not mistaken here. Are you seeing a a psychologist and getting medication for this? its possible u need to go to the doctor yea same when i get super stressed my heart may skip a beat or beat really fast but to no affect, like in a high gear going really fast but doing little good Yes get yourself checked out.Anychest pain test should be checked out no matter how minor. it can aggravate an existing condition, have and EKG done I think you should go your doctor as soon as. he can help with the panic attacks. An anxiety attack is a short period of strong fear that happens for no reason that you know of. An anxiety attack is also known as a panic attack. An anxiety attack can be a one-time event, or can become an ongoing problem. If you have two or more anxiety attacks in a month, you may have a condition called panic or anxiety disorder. If anxiety attacks become severe (very bad), they may keep you from living a normal life. I don't think you had a heart attack. It just sounds like one heck of a panic attack. In the long run however, anxiety can cause heart attacks (anxiety=stress, stress=heart attack). Try counseling for the anxiety. Anxiety/stress on your body can take a toll on your body and make you sick (aside from a heart attack). MY GOD, Hon, have you been to a doctor about this? That sounds like nothing to play around with. It could be a sign of quite a few things, many of which, I suppose very well could bring on a heart attack. Honey, please go see an internist and tell him your problem. I'm afraid you might end up in the Emergency Room before long. Please have it checked out. Wow, you poor thing. You shouldn't have to suffer like this. There is help you know. You are having physiological responses and what you are suffering from sounds even WORSE than a heart attack. No, you have not had a heart attack!! You need to see a healthcare provider that specializes in anxiety disorders. I've linked something below. Many people have the same problem. It is scary and puts a dent in the way you live your life because you allow it to snowball. and pen you in. There's hope! i was having "attacks' that I thought was heart related and even went to hospital once and was kept in intensive care for one night. The next day the doctor checked out my heart throughly and at the end told me to have my gall bladder checked out. I thought he was crazy but sure enough about 5 years later I had an attack so severe I ended back in emergency room and had to have a gall bladder operation and had it removed. Hey Browneyes, how you feeling today??? Along with some great advice you've already received here can I just add a couple of things??? Obviously you've been extra stressed lately??? In times of stress our bodies use up more of the all important group of B vitamins than usual !! Since the B group of vitamins is a water soluble group we need to replace them in our bodies on a daily basis, either by supplementation or food !! Poor gal, sure it was a severe panic attack, know the feeling well. You have to learn to control it though or as others have said, it could very well be the sign of more serious ailments!! You are in a vicious circle. The panic attacks are making you worried about your heart so you don't exercise for fear of raising your heartbeat. You should do two things so you have complete piece of mind. One is ask your doctor for a exercise stress test which checks your heart while walking on a treadmill. If it is fine, which I'm sure it will be, whenever you get a panic attack or non-cardiac chest pain, you can relax knowing that your heart is healthy and you are fine. The other thing is too go on medication or have medication with you to take right aways when you have a panic attack. If you have a family history of asthma, you should get checked out. Your panic attacks might be asthma attacks. absolutely,it was called "stress"by medical science, which would cause heart attrack after you got it what it sounds like to me is a severe anxiety attack. perhaps seeing an MD or specialist will help but you cannot have a heart attack. having prolonged stress in life with few ways of alleviating stress, i.e. hobbies, mild exercise, etc can lead to heart disease but it isn't going to kill you, it is just a SYMPTOM. I learned this in a physical education class in college. |
