During a Heart Attack, What is the Victim's Blood Pressure? |
I'm sure is is different in almost every case, but can a person with normal blood pressure be having a heart attack. When a person is in the hospital ER for Heart Attack, do they normally have a low or high BP? Does a "stress induced" heart attack normally occur in people with normal BP? O know the symptoms, but nothing mentions BP Excellent question, one i haven't thought about, but i would have to say that BP on a AMI (Acute Myocardial Infraction) will depend on 2 variables, Type of AMI and Extent of the AMI Usually the blood pressure increases. It is good to purchase a digital blood pressure cuff and take it daily to know what your normal blood pressure is. I was having chest pain, and decided to dial 911. Fire Rescue and paramedics took my blood pressure and said it was OK. It was 135/80. It wasnt OK because that is extremely high in comparing to my everyday normal. Was taken to hospital....and yest I had a heart attack. Luckily mine was a coronary artery spasm with little damage to the heart and it repaired itself. No blocked arteries. usually the blood pressure is high because when a person is having a heart attack, the heart is not pumping normally, and the cardiac output is abnormal -- therefore this increases the pressure. |
