How would I know if I have hearing problems?

Is the only way to go is to see my doctor? And sometimes when I yawn, it feels like I could hear things more easily...which makes me think my ear is clogged or something. Then after the yawn stops, it goes back to normal hearing. It is kind of hard to explain...

Another thing whenever I have a regular check-up with my doctor and when she uses that device to check my ear, she does not have any comments (just realized this now...). So now I am concerned. Does anyone have any ideas?

you can have a hearing problem but not have anything wrong with the ear physically so the doctor looking into the ear canal wouldn't note a problem. The only real way to know if you have hearing loss is to go get a hearing test done and the sooner the better. Some hearing loss can be corrected, but over time it can be harder or not be able to be corrected at all.

Keep notes of this so that when you go to your doctor you won't forget to tell her. Do you have difficulty understanding people when they talk?but can hear a siren o.k.? You people tell you that your T.V. or radio is too loud? Has anyone commented that you are talking too loudly, that they can hear you just fine? Do you hear buzzing, clicks or ticking in the affected ear? If the answer is yes to any of these you may have an undiagnosis hearing loss. The quicker you have it checked out the better. The longer that is goes untreated the more may be lost forever and not be gotten back. Call your doctor first thing in the morning and have a hearing test scheduled. Hopefully you'll be overhearing the neighbors complain over the back fence real soon.
