Hearing problem - can't read in the mind what people are saying but i can hear the voice.

This happens often, I can hear the voice of the person saying but I can't read perfectly in my mind what they are saying.

About 2 years ago, I had this ringing sound in my ear that lasted about 1-2 weeks, and I went to a doctor(which is a ear-nose-throat type of doctor). My doctor gave me a medicine, which was to drop it into my ear, but it wasn't resolved. I went to a doctor (which is someone who deals with herbs) and he told me that it might be my phlegm that is helping the problem. So he gave me some vitamin C's, and it went better and stopped thinking about the ringing sound.

Now, I don't know if the volume of what I hear is very normal, since I already forgot what's normal because that ringing sound lasted about 1-2 weeks. But now, I can hear the voices of the people but I don't understand what they are talking about.

My mother said that it might be just my thinking, but I don't think so.

actually, it's not all the time, and I hesitate to ask the person talking to me of what he said because I might be called deaf. :D

And for me, I can't just go to a neurologist....I don't want to....and I'm 13 yrs old. Here in my city, there aren't just as many expert doctors, and I am not that rich for anymore surgeries and any more serious problem. I'd rather die adding up another problem to my mom. hehe. And I can't believe that I'm not just like other kids....I also experienced surgery because of a hernia, and now a hearing problem? >___<

I would see a neurologist.

you are concentrating too much on what you are doing .. very focused or it could be damage to some nerve cells that are not responding or working the way they are supposed to do...
i suppose in that case you should visit a neurologist .. most probably they'd do an mri scan for the brain ... and i hope you get better..
boone chance!

Go and have your hearing tested. The Audiologist will tell you if your hearing is normal or not, maybe your missing out on some frequencies and not picking up EVERY sound. The ringing could be tinnitus and this is not curable.
