Hearing problem: Menieres's Disease.. (which i have) um.. HELP?? |
im only 16 and my doctor told me that this isnt normal for young people to have it. Ive been trying to cope with if for the past two years. Getting steriod shots and taking pills. Now that all of that is over they still couldnt get the buzzing to stop. I mean its not as loud as it was but its still there. Side note: this all started with me being underwater during a synchronized swimming meet. I am sorry to hear about your condition, and I truly hope it gets better. You need to ask why you need to wear your hearing aid if it doesn't help. dont be embarrassed about wearing it... i dunno what u should do if it doesnt work tho. good luck. you may want to question the diagnosis. From my understanding, menieres disease is a disorder of the inner ear/vestibular system causing significant vertigo, not so much hearing disorders. If you are experiencing hearing problems in that ear without vertigo find a different doctor/get another opinion. Finally, if the hearing aid isn't helping then stop wearing it. Hope this helps. I know how hard this must be for you, But there is always help. You can speak with a Herbalist at www.nupro.net/?1618 and there is a toll free number on the site and tell him your problem. He will tell you if he can help you or not. Or if you would rather contact me you may. Don't be embarrassed about wearing a hearing aid. I wore my hearing aid all throughout school and never felt ashamed of it. I even wore an FM system most of the time too, which is a LOT more noticeable than a hearing aid. |
