Sleeping disorders caused by magnetic fields?

Have you ever heard of magnetic fields coming from in ground water viens causing sleep disorders?
Two people have told me that my insomnia could be caused by those magnetic fields. The first time I was told about it I just thought this sounds like a hoax or a fairy tale. But since the second person has told me the same thing I'm beginning to get curious.
If you have ever heard of such a thing do you know if there is a way to shield off those affects?
