Health insurance - physical exams?

i want to try out for cross country at my high school and well as standard procedure you need to hand in a physical signed by your doctor. the problem in my case is my mom was fired and no longer has health insurance, so now we can't go to a doctor. she applied for welfare since she's a single mother and she will be accepted for it but we don't know when. i believe welfare covers health insurance or something?

well considering the case i do not have health insurance, what should i do? should i talk to my school and maybe there is some option like maybe theres a district doctor or something that can perform my physical (i know some schools have this)? i'm really confused. anyone know of any options i should try??

Talk to the coach of your team. There may be something they can do to help. I am sure that you are not the only student without health insurance that they have had.

It'll depend on your particular state. Medicaid is a joint state and federal program that provides health care coverage for low income families and is administered by the state you live in.

You'd probably have to talk to your school officials or coaches because they'll probably know more about local and state programs in your area.
