Health Insurance - United States people please?

How many of you are without health insurance because of $$$ and how is it affecting you and your health? Or do you have family members who don't have health insurance. Are you unable to go to the doctor because of it? I am as we supposedly make too much money to get help which is a total joke.

MY HUSBAND HAS GREAT HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGH UPS WHERE HE WORKS. OUR KIDS ARE 20 AND 21 AND THEY ARE NOT IN SCHOOL ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED STUDENTS. IF THEY WERE THEY COULD GO BACK ON THE INSURANCE UNTIL I THINK 26(?) IT IS TOUGH AS MY SON GOT A BAD CASE OF THE FLU AND WE COULD NOT AFFORD AN UNCOVERED VISIT AS WITH BLOOD TESTS AND VISIT AND PRESCRIPTIONS IN WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE 100'S OF DOLLAR RANGE.MY DAUGHTER GETS CHRONIC STREP THROAT AND MAY NEED HER TONSILS OUT SOON AND WITH NO INSURANCE WE ARE HAVING TO WAIT AND SEE IF SHE CAN GET IN TO FULL TIME NURSING SCHOOL SO SHE CAN GO BACK ON THE INSURANCE. EITHER THAT OR FIND A JOB WITH INSURANCE THAT WILL PAY FOR A PRE-EXISTING PROBLEM, YEH, GOOD LUCK! IT SUCKS, I'M HOPING MY SON CAN AFFORD TO TAKE ENOUGH CREDITS NEXT SEMESTER TO GO BACK ON. HE WEARS GLASSES AND WITH THE INSURANCE HE GETS A NEW PAIR FOR NEXT TO NOTHING YEARLY SO THAT IS ANOTHER INCENTIVE FOR HIM TO TAKE THE REQUIRED CREDITS. I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO HAVE NO ACCESS TO HEALTH INSURANCE OR WITH A FAMILY. IT MUST BE JUST TERRIBLE AND STRESSFUL. I AGREE IT IS A JOKE THAT YOU CAN MAKE TOO MUCH TO QUALIFY FOR HELP.ONLY SOMEONE WHO MAKES ENOUGH CAN MAKE THAT RULE. THE COST OF INSURANCE IS REDICULOUS AND HOW ANYONE CAN AFFORD TO PAY IT IF THEY ARE NOT REALLY WELL OFF IS BEYOND ME. MY MOTHER LIVES IN ENGLAND AND SHE MOSTLY USES THE NATIONAL HEALTH. I CALL IT THE NATIONAL "DEATH", AS SHE HAD TO WAIT OVER 6 MONTHS FOR AN APPOINTMENT FOR A SPECIFIC PROBLEM. SHE USUALLY HAS TO SCRAPE AND SAVE TO PAY AND SEE A PRIVATE DOCTOR. SHE WAS JUST TOLD SHE NEEDS TO SEE A SPECIALIST AS HER EYE DOCTOR THINKS SHE HAS THE START OF MACULAR DEGENERATION. SHE CANNOT GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SPECIALIST FOR MANY MONTH IN TO THE FUTURE.SHE COULD BE WELL ON HER WAY TO BEING BLIND IN THAT EYE BY THEN. I AM TRYING TO GET MY SIBLINGS TO GET THEIR WALLETS OUT TO HELP, BUT WE ARE ALL HARD WORKING JUST SCRAPPING BY PEOPLE AND I THINK WHAT WE ALL HAVE TO GO THROUGH IS DISGUSTING! MY UNCLE IN ENGLAND NEEDS A KNEE SURGERY AND THE NATIONAL HEALTH SAID THEY WILL PAY FOR THE SURGERY AFTER HE TURNS 75! HE'S IN HIS LATE SIXTIES AND IN ALOT OF PAIN NOW! I THINK THEY ARE HOPING HE WILL FALL OFF THE PERCH(AS MY MOTHER CALLS IT)I CALL IT CROAK BY THE TIME HE IS 75! I'M SORRY FOR YOUR SITUATION. IN THIS COUNTRY WITH ALL THESE MULTI BILLION AND TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES AND ALL OUR SUPER RICH MOVIE AND TV STARS WHERE ARE US LITTLE PEOPLE WHO HELPED TO MAKE THESE COMPANIES AND PEOPLE RICH? SITTING AT HOME SICK OR IN PAIN OR JUST SICK WITH WORRY WITH NO MONEY TO SEE A DOCTOR. I DO CAT RESCUE AND I OFCOURSE CANT AFFORD TO JUST TAKE THEM IN TO THE VET I HAVE TO CALL EVERY ANIMAL CHARITY AROUND AND BEG FOR ASSISTANCE. MOST HELP, BUT WHERE IS THE HELP FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO SOMEONE SAYS MAKES TOO MUCH MONEY TO QUALIFY FOR HELP. BOGGLES THE MIND!

You can hardly make any money at all to qualify for help. If you come across the border illegally though, you can DEFINITELY qualify for help. It's not fair. I pay $260 a month for my health plan at work. The people at my work who insure their entire families pay just under $900. How are people supposed to afford that?

N.Y. State has Healthy Plus, you can earn quite a bit before they turn you down, not sure where you live.

My husband does not have health insurance. I do, for now, but am pregnant and have to leave my job. I can get medicaid for pregnancy care, but after that - no insurance. My husband owns his own business but only makes around $20K/year. Insurance premiums for him are around $300/month. Can't really afford that. Thankfully, neither of us are ill often at all. He's been to the doctor once in 2 years. We can usually pay for an office visit now and again. We try to avoid emergency rooms and hospitals at all costs.

health insurance is a rip off. when i see insurance agents living fat, it makes me want to wretch.
