Hay Fever; making me almost die every spring!!? |
I have hay fever and it's really bothering- i get itchy eyes and a really really stuffy nose- i was wondering what i could do or just use home rememdies. Okay I am not into the meds either. Here is what I do and it does work. When you feel like something is coming on take Vitamin C three time a day for 3 days and then take it everyday from there on. You will need to get some saline and spray it in your nose at least 2 time a day and do not sleep with your windows open. Try it for a while I have been doing it for about 4 years and doing good. Hope it works for you. Thanks for picking me. I hope you try it Report It There are home remedies that seem to work. Here is a site that has a good article and lists some for you. Try an air purifier in your house, so you can get rid of all the allergens in there. I know I have to keep my window open, making mine worse, but an air purifier helps. Also try a nose washing system to help with the stuffy nose. I use sinurinse, and I've noticed that after I use it I can suddenly breathe again (and some days that takes a miracle). As for the itchy eyes, I know that they make visine for allergy eyes. I don't know if you consider that medicine or not. you could try wearing sunglasses outside, kicking the animals outside, When your eyes are itchy go and wash them out with cold water, spraying fess (saline water) up your noses to clear it out, and prevent sinus infections, But on the medication side of things if you take the prescribed amount ( i take 24 hour telfast) i only take it 3 days a week because it stops my allergies for the rest of the week. Good Luck No medicines? OK. Well, they say that eating local raw honey can help with allergies, just like getting allergy shots. You are exposing yourself to the pollen that is making you have allergy attacks, and building up your immunities. You could see an allergist and get desensitation shots. They are not medicine. They are a tiny extract of the pollen to which you are allergic. They slowly build up the dosage until the normal amount in the air does not bother you anymore. However, you need good insurance. A series of shots can cost $6000. |
