Honey for hay fever sufferer? |
ive been told honey is good for hay fever, anyone heard of this? My Chinese doctor recommended it. But he said it had to be local honey, and had to be real honey too. It is considered an important remedy in Chinese medicine. Those industrious bees must add something to the honey that can cure many aliments. Scientists are not intensely studying the honey, because there is something in the honey very helpful for diabetes as well. Yes my mom used to give me honey for fevers all the time. I'd guess exactly the opposite if you eat honey thats made in the area you live in apparently alleviates your hayfever Yes - the more local to you the better - if you can find someone in your village who produces it, or failing that at least buy some produced in the county. The idea is that the bees are working the plants local to you - the very ones which are causing your allergy and if you start taking a teaspoonful of honey each day - early enough in the year - you can build up a resistance. Honey has other good properties too. honey is made from bees. Which they get the stuff to make the honey from pollen. So if you take honey it will help with allergies and hay fever. Think of it as when someone gets bit by a venomous snake. they use anti venom which is made out of the snakes venom to cure the person. this is how the honey works. The problem is that you do not know the plants on which the bees providing the honey were feeding. It is possible to react to the honey if it contains allergens you are allergic to. |
