Can Zyrtec (Cetirizine HCl) be taken daily all year round to prevent hay fever? |
I asked this because my friends told me that Zyrtec can only be taken when you already have the symptoms of hay fever. I have perennial hay fever (occuring 4 to 5 times a year). I wanted to minimize, if not, get rid of the occurence. Yes, I have taken it daily, year round, for over 4 years now. I find if I don't take it I get all the symptoms of allergies! I don't suffer from hay fever...but other allergies...so I still feel Yes, you can take Zyrtec daily, year round. Be sure you check with your Dr. as it can raise your blood pressure and cause other side effects/complications you might not be aware that you suffer from. yes. my son is 4 and has to take 1.5 tsps of zyrtec everyday. SD My son takes Zyrtec daily as prescribed by the Doctor. If you have any doubts, call the pharmacy that filled the prescription and talk to the Pharmacist Yes, I take Zyrtec everyday, all year round, for 3 years now; before I would take it in acute situations but I have worsen my allergies and I have to take it daily. I only stop it when I really have to work late hours or having MS examinations, because it makes me too sleepy... yes, you are supposed to take it every day year round to prevent symptoms of hay fever since you get it so frequently. In fact, the zyrtec will be LESS effective if you wait til you get symptoms. Take preventative measures and take the zyrtec every day. It'll help you out a lot. |
