Hay Fever, why is it getting worse year on year?

I have tried various medications, except the steroid due its side effects. Any treatment suggestion would be welcomed.

Heat, the hotter it gets the more pollen and grass wiil be in the air.

I know - i write this in between sniffles and the windows aren't even open grrrrr - my grandma gets this flower essence thing from holland and barrett, that u dilute in water and she says it works really well.

Personally I have noticed an increase in those around me suffering more from Hay Fever as they get older. I think a lot of it comes down to the fact a lot of children don't really play out anymore. They're protected a lot more, not allowed outside to just play in the dirt. A lot of children today would rather stay in doors and play on the Playstation or watch TV anyway.

I grew up on a farm, and I never had allergy problems until my 14th year. After that, they grew progressively worse until, and the age of 22, I encountered an herbalist who was a friend of a friend. She recommended that I take alfalfa capsules. I did this for two years, twice a day. Finally, my allergies subsided considerably. I now use an OTC allergy med for about a week in the fall and a week in the spring, and that controls the peak allergen times. Otherwise, things are great!

I suppose that, if you consider that allergies are an autoimmune problem, ingesting a common allergen might help to adjust the autoimmune system. At any rate, it worked for me!

ive only tried a few and last one i used actually got rid of my sneezes but made my eyes more watery itchy and swollen than normal! so now i just try and ride it out....i'd rather sneeze a lot than not be able to see where im going!

more people have been getting it this year, several women i work with have developed this year and never had it previous years..maybe it has something to do with pollen count being higher than normal? maybe it all links to the climate change/ozone layer?

I never suffered with hay fever till I went to Spain, and I caught Hay Fever Espana!!!

Vaseline up the nose. acts as a barricade to the pollen and no side effects.
