Cold & Hay Fever!!!!!!!?


What's the difference?

The symptoms can be the same - runny nose, sneezing, etc. However, the cause are different.

Allergies (or hayfever) are when your immune system becomes sensitive and reacts to substances , usually proteins, that in the majority of people, cause no symptoms. Reactions can be mild to life threatening. Symptoms last as long as you are exposed to the allergen. Hayfever refers to allergies to pollens/molds as opposed to foods, animals, chemicals, etc.

Colds are an infection of your upper respiratory tract 鈥?your nose and throat. It's usually harmless and lasts from a week to two weeks.
