Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? |
My doctor recently told me that i have this disease. I'm only 14yrs old. I did a little research, and it said that it affect mostly adults. Why do i have? My doctor plan on giving me a medication today(are there any side affects to this). I'm currently freaking out. Any advice? My son has had it since an early age. He hates the thought of being tested all the time and buying the hormones he needs. It took him awhile but he is now learning to accept it. They are right, if you catch it early, it is better for you. YOu should not! Trust your doctor. While it is true that it affects adults most of the time, take note not all of the time, so you are just one of those few times. Anyways, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease affecting your thyroid gland. It is unfortunate that your body just form antibodies against your thyroid and potentially could destroy it and make it unfunctional thereby causing medical problems. |
