A very important factor in adequate handwashing is the use of?

it goes w/o saying that water, the universal solvent, is by far the most important, both washing and rinsing. however, in addition to that,

1. something to loosen the dirt and germs. i personally use dishwashing detergent. i thought it interesting that someone specified 'mild' soap. i thought the question dealt with cleanliness, not skin care.

2. drying on a towel, preferably a paper towel to not hand germs to whoever is next, is a large factor in removing germs. (although i'm not sure that everyone realized this fact. and, some will complain about the ecological effects of my specification of paper towels, but they really do work best.)

to prevent germs from spreading onto other things or people

mild soap and warm water and rinsing well- wash 20 seconds- rinse 20 seconds

soap.

Don't forget to turn the water off with a dry paper towel!!! (you turned to water on with a dirty hand, and if you turn it off with your clean hand...well get the picture)

:)
