Quiiiick! Avoiding germs at the doctors?

Im leaving for a doctors appointment in 10 minutes!
How can I avoid catching anything (especially the stomach virus) while I'm there!
Im wearing clothes ill take off and wash as soon as im home, and im always realllly carefull about handwashing..
What else???

touch nothing and wash wash wash yer hands.........it's just awful isn't it?
I carry a small travel bottle of the liquid sanitizer in my purse so I can do it before I get into my car and get germs all over my steering wheel.
Keep your hands from your face as well.

Other than wearing a mask, I think you are covered. Maybe a shower once you get home.

You're doing the best you can right there. Take a multi vitamin to keep your bod well supplied with necessary vitamins.

Don't go. Seriously. The amount of germs that congregate in high patient density areas (such as doctor's offices and hospitals) are well known and responsible for what is termed "nosocomial infections" So the only iron clad sure method of avoiding such infections is to not go. But realistically, is the risk of not going weighed against seeing your doctor for their examination skills and advice worth it? I don't think so.

Hand washing is probably the biggest weapon against catching such infections. By that I mean the one who touches the most germs should always wash their hands after each patient contact. So, the most effective way to avoid getting anything that someone else has is to ask your nurse and doctor to please wash their hands before they touch you.

All the things that you mentioned may sound like you're doing a lot, but none would do more than simple handwashing by the caregiver. Don't take my word for it, this is straight from the CDC.
