Classification Error: Help? |
If one has a substantial amount of critical traits from three different mental illnesses; but, never exhibits all crucial traits in one particular category, how can one classify them? Is this strictly for a DSM class? Just do a primary diagnosis on axis one, a "rule out" secondary if needed on axis one, then indicate axis two features but needs more longitudinal data. It is just a preliminary diagnosis anyway, right? The Anti-social Personality Disorder is a diagnosis by it self. That is the diagnosis. The other two things are just symptoms of the anti-social personality disorder. The other listings could be to a number of different diagnosis, but the #3, is a diagnosis. OCD can be a symptom in many different diagnosis, #'s 1 & 2 can also be symptoms of schziphrenia, where as the #3 is not just a symptom. Since you list all three of them together, yet seperately, then that makes me think that all three make up one diagnosis, which could be schziphrenia with audio hallucinations. But only a professional can really say! |
