Have you avoided Norovirus when those around you were ill? |
I wonder if anyone could tell me if they have managed not to contract Norovirus, despite being in an environment (home, work) where it is "going around"? Just for a bit of hope and proof that hand washing and hygeine can help protect people - what did you do and was handwashing effective? I was on a cruise ship that had an outbreak of it. My whole family avoided it. sure you can - I have - but you have to stay diligent. Hand washing is definitely good. Clean your commonly used items : NUMBER ONE CLEAN YOUR PHONE !!!!!! you never know who used it while youre at lunch. Get plenty of rest and OJ - Airborne and Cold EZ both help in prevention as well quick reversal if you feel it coming on. Carrying some of the hand sanitizing gel in your purse is good for on-the-go. Don't be afraid to cover your mouth when someone sneezes in the vicinty. It's not rude - youre just protecting yourself. and lysol lysol lysol. and tell people if they are sick to PLEASE not come to work. IT does not help the company to have ten people out when it could have been just one if they had kept their butt at home YES I WORK IN A DR OFFICE BUT ALMOST NEVER GET SICK- HANDWASHING AND WIPING DESK AND PHONE GENERAL AREA WITH ALCOHOL. ALSO KEEP VITAMIN C ON HAND AND TAKE AT FIRST SIGNS OF NOT FEELIN WELL-ESPECIALLY ITCHY SCRATCHY THROAT! I have washed my hands a lot put all the dishes in the dishwasher wash the sheets and the kitchen counter several times and clean the bathroom 3 times a day my whole family had it except me water and soap are the best tool in my opinion Treat it just as you would someone with the gastroenteritis In addition to good handwashing, Clean surfaces with 1oz. bleach to a gallon of water. Norovirus can persist longer than most diarrheas. Remember, to keep yourself healthy as well. .................dan |
