Hand injury help!?

I hurt my hand (localized to right thumb) and I'm confused about what to do. It's not swollen, but my whole hand is weak to the point where I cant hold a glass of water. Also, my hand is numb starting on my thumb and getting less numb as it gets farther away from there. There is a little loss of mobility but I am mostly asking about the weakness. I have sprained this hand before and it wasn't like this. What's wrong? Thanks.

nerve damage. could be temporary but the only way to know is to have it checked. nerves are responsible for motor output (strength, coordination), hence your weakness and loss of mobility; as well as sensory input (feeling), hence the numbness. Definitely get it checked.

well if i were u, i would go to the doctor and c wats rong!! cuz if u say its nuthing, and then later it gets worse, then u'll be sry! but wat im trying to say is, go to the doctor be4 its to late!
