Can old injuries heal?

I injured my shoulder about a year ago when I was lifting a very heavy bucket, back then I didn't do anything about it because I thought it had gotten better just by resting the whole arm for about two weeks but to this day the whole area hurts when it's cold or when I lift things, the pain goes all the way down to the hand and also to the chest area and lasts for weeks.
I heard that once a muscle tears and nothing is done about it immediately it will never heal but I also heard acupuncture helps, has anybody got any more info?.

Shoulder injuries like rotator cuff tears will never heal with surgery. Acupuncture might help deal with pain temporarily but wont heal the injury. Sometimes surgery wont fix a bad tear if there is major nerve damage.

Old injuries are way harder to fix than fresh ones. If you want to fix that one read and apply http://www.helium.com/tm/148271 because it is not going to spontaneously fix it self,
