Disorders much?

i read about the symthoms of OCD and now ADHD and i feel like i can relate to most of them. i am a total neat freak and i do this 'thing' ever since i was little and i would feel the need to do things (such as: i felt the need to step on certain tiles on a floor, clap my hands 5 times before that car passes by... ect.) if there is a series of lights and one is burned out, i feel uncomfortable and cant look at it.
as for ADHD, i get so easily distracted and am really uncontrollabley hyper sometimes. my second grade teacher thought that i did too and i went to the doctor and he said that i dont, but he never ran any tests or anything.
i recently asked a question about how i am afraid of chairs collapsing under me. people who answered thought i might have an anxiety disorder.
so this seems like alot of disorders, but i am afraid of talking to my parents because they might think i want atteniton but i dont, i hate attention. are there any less obvious symtoms you might know about?

What do you see when you close your eyes? And what about when you open them? How dramatic is the difference? We are entitled to our fantasies. Indeed, we really ought to see them as essential to our well-being. What's the point of a life without dreams? It's true too, that some dreams are best left unfulfilled. They are more enjoyable in the imagination than they would ever be in reality. Yet every so often, we have to get a little of what we want, if only to maintain the tantalising illusion that the rest might just be attainable.

I would go to the doctor without telling my parents. After you have spoken with him/her and you have a diagnosis, then tell your parents. If there is nothing wrong with you then you can keep quite. Good luck!

i am similar. i can't stand random repetitive noises. i am inattentive on everythin except music and i am unable to focus and then i'm in hyper focused with no in between.

ADHD and OCD are pretty close to each other in the grand spectrum of mental illness, so it's not totally unreasonable for somebody to show some symptoms of both. I think the symptoms you listed pretty much cover the things that are consistently present with these disorders.

If you feel like these things are affecting the quality of your life negatively, then you should talk to your parents and get a doctor's appointment. Don't worry about them thinking you want attention -- because if you are suffering from a real problem, you need attention.

Some advice from personal experience: Don't get too wrapped up in which disorder(s) you have; hypochondria is a scary thing. You just have to focus on correcting the things that you think are wrong.
