Anyone have good ideas for activities to learn respiratory disorders?

I am teaching pulmonary disorders to paramedic students and wand some hands on stuff for them to do.

Yeah, a good way of feeling that it is like to have COPD is to have a person try and breath through a straw for a couple minutes. They will not be able to do it long..lol A good way to explain PEEP is to have a student blow out a candle. Then explain why they purse their lips when they do it. Or explain why raising your arms when "the wind is knocked out of you" helps. I found from my experiances in Medic school that if the material was explained in experiances that I have had in the past, or that I could actually feel myself that it better allowed me to understand, apply, and build on what I have learned. Good Luck! I am sure how ever you teach it they will get it. ;-)
