Should I have a tubal litigation?

I've felt comfortable for a while that I am happy with just the one child. On the other hand, I have major depressive disorder, and feel I cannot really trust myself with huge decisions. Then, again, being severely depressed has been VERY scary with having a daughter. There have been many times I've gone into the hospital & not been with her, and a year ago I attempted suicide. I doubt that I will ever be truly "Well" enough for more children. But what if some miracle happens and I'm all better and want another? I've known quite a few women who tell me they totally regret having their tubes tied. But there almost IS no reliable method of birth control I'm willing to use.

Also, does medicare, or medicaid (whichever) pay for this surgery?

You need to discuss this with your psychiatrist, not with us. This is too big an issue to leave in the hands of strangers.

I agree with the first answer. Talk with your paychiatrist and weigh the pros and cons of this procedure.
If you have it and change your mind, the success rate is about 50%, and a much bigger surgery than the ligation. Plus reversal is not covered under insurance. I am not sure if medicare/medicaid will pay for you to have it done. But, talk to your doctor before you make this decision. Good luck to you.

tenncare a form of medicaid payed for mine you have to be 21. and sign consent formand wait 30 days. i had mine 2yrs. ago
my neves are bad too and i have one child. the shot was the only form i could use. gain 30 lb with it.i would forget the pill.and problems with other. i cant deside anything and since you allready have a child you no you have to make 50 decisions a day. the sugery was one i acctully made and dont reget. i love my son and i know the way i am two children would drive me nuts. i felt i would be a better mother if i only had one to focus on and worry about.but every time a monthly comes up i think about it would be nice to have a girl and a week later i come back to my sinces its just my hormones talking. this is some thing you have to decide on. but what would you do if you found out you were pregnate.i would rater live with the reget of not having another that the reget of having one i didnt want or couldnt take care of.

Ask ur doc.

Medicare or medicaid might pay for it, if your doctor requests it.
But you would need to be screened for this procedure because it is a difficult decision not made lightly.
