My dad thinks im anorexic...? |
ok... so my family eats a lot of meat and i hate eating animals like A LOT! and so i eat salad a lot and my dad is always bugging me and giving me weird looks that point to wandering if im eating healthy or have a disorder. Now on the other hand my mom thinks im a pig because i eat so much crap and stuff.... they are TOTALLY different veiws and i have no clue what to do! maybe you should become a vegetarian if you do not like eating meat. a lacto-ovo vegetarian still eats eggs and dairy, so if u like cheese its no bid deal. then u need to tellyour parents that you would like to become a vegetarian. once you do you can suggest vegetarian meals, or at least ask that when your family makes meat, you can have some protein and meat instead. they key is to take out the meat AND replace it with something else so that ur parents do not think that you are lacking in nutrients. since meat is eaten mostly for protein, try having cheese, nuts, or beans, or if u like it, even tofu instead of the meat. soups are also good, try having vegetable soup. you could even offer to make dinner for your family as a way to teach them more about your beleifs of being a vegetarian. if u dont wanna b a vegetarian u can at least use it as an excuse. also take a multivitamin u have a fast metabolism.. i had that in high school and i used to eat so much junk food.. to try and make myself gain weight.. cause the other girls would say im anorexic.. even though i seemed like a fine weight.. maybe say to your dad that it is science.. get some articles from the net.. mayb a doctors view.. First off, get your parents the book "Vegetarianism for Dummies". It explains a lot of the nutritional aspects of meatless diets (why they aren't dangerous, what the benefits are, etc.) in terms an average person can understand. I agree with the person above me. You are probably better off talking to your mom first about the fact that you hate eating meat. When you explain to her first that you would like to become a vegetarian maybe she can help you talk to your dad. Explain to your mom that your dad thinks that you have an eating disorder and that you absolutely do not have one that the only reason you eat salads at dinner is because you don't feel that it is right to eat animals. Maybe you, your mom and dad can come to a compromise about dinner ideas and then you can prove to your dad that you are not anorexic. same thing with me except both parents think im anorexic when they see i dont eat at all and when they actually watch me eat they say i eat like a pig and so do ma friends, well the point is i know how you feel put just do what you got to do, and eat what you think makes you feel right and if people think mean or say anything that bothers you just take it as a compliment screw them. go with the flow Well keep eating and eventually you'll gain a little weight.Maybe when you start your period. That happened to my friend. She could eat anything then she started her period and she gain alot of weight. Good Luck! |
