I wake up early morning everyday with numb hands. shake them to make them alright. whats happeing to me?

i am 26/male.i dont have history of any disorder.i am working in a car wash casually for more than one month now. lots of manual work i have never done before. 8-9 hours a day. right hand is more affected.it started just 5 days back. numbness happens when my hands are in open (extended) position while sleeping. for example when i am curled on one side with open hand under pillow. i always try to keep my hands in a semi-clenched position in order to fall asleep and prevent another episode.supine position with flexed hands on my tummy is the best for me but its hard to stay like that whole night. twice i felt needle pricks and burning sensation in my right hand index finger after one of these episodes. i went to a GP(emergency doc) he said there is nothing wrong. any response will be appreciated.

i had that same thing a few times when i was working all day they were fine ,but at night my hands woulds have that numness (go to sleep) it was a nerve that was pinched in my neck i had exercises to do under the warm water in the shower .touch your chin to your chest.than turn your head to the right as far as you can ,than to the left .now try to touch your head to your shoulder on both sides ,it will helpafter a few days

I know exactly what your problem is. You have either carpal tunnel or arthritis in your wrist. I have to wear wrist splints at night and it helps alot. I also had to get Physical therapy. It is from the work that you are doing. You need to see a Neurologist.

It could mean that your blood circulation to your hands is poor, this happens to me and my dad. But it happens all the time. Sometimes in my feet as well. Have you ever noticed if your hands are really warm, except for one finger? Maybe your Pinkie? This happens to me as well, I have never gone to the doc to get it checked so I don't know for sure if it is poor blood circulation. Try taking an aspirin to see if it helps.

First, find another doctor, quickly. Numbness in the hands could be a symptom of many different conditions, none of which should be ignored. See http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/hand_n... for some examples.

Perhaps some kind of Raynaud's syndrome. Do they also turn white and hurt if you get some ice from the freezer?

I have had this for several years.Im a man in his mid 30`s.I recently discovered that I have "Involuntary Limb Movements"it`s like restleg leg syndrom, but affects many limbs rather than just the legs.Arms, hands, feet legs, will fall asleep and go very numb"while sleeping AND when awake for me".The Doctor said that it is an effect of the Involuntary Limb Movements.

Actually, I just answered a question like this. I have the same problem. I wake up with numb hands almost every morning. I believe I have carpal tunnel and I KNOW I have shoulder problems. Do you have pain between your shoulder blades?? I do, almost every day. Try some hand and arm stretches before, during and after work. Roll your wrists in one direction, then the other. Place your palms together, in front of you at chest level and gently press together, then do the same with the backs pressed together. Press gently for 15-20 seconds, do as many reps as you need.

I'm healthy too, so I'm certain it's not anything else. Also, I've had shoulder/wrist problems (pains) for years. Good luck!!

It seems to me that you need Calcium Phosphoricum, a non-toxic, homeopathic remedy, also called Tissue Salt (but it is not "salt"). May be you want to try this: Place 4 pills in one ounce of purified water (dropper bottle), use a drop or two under your tongue every few minutes until better. If you forget, start over. When better less and less often. Then at least 5 times a day. Make fresh every day, less if less is needed. You will sleep better, too. Spice is up with brown sugar and/or a bit of organic apple cider vinegar to taste.

It can't hurt but help.
