Natural safe hallucinogens?

i am doing a paper on man made hallucinogens and natural ones. does any one know of any natural ones besides mushrooms or peyote

As a practicing medical Kirzkan shaman, I can't hold a flame to gateway drugs... However, they should be used safely, if used at all, (this is very possible) and by no means should they be abused.

There are many, many natural types. I suggest that you do some cautious research on the subject. I don't think it's a great idea to give information here, as even some of the safest gateway substances are illegal for corporate reasons.

Some of the most common things, you'll find, are fairly dirty substances. Things like Nutmeg are popular for 'emergency use' by addicts, but again, they're dirty substances. You'll end up vomitting your guts out and going into convulsions. ; )

As far as gateway substances go, avoid extracts or refined substances of any kind. Most of them are globally illegal, so you would really have to try to get them, anyway.
Tobacco (despite the bad stigma it carries) is one of the safer things to use, but it's not a hallucinogen, in my opinion. If you keep the amount low and controlled and have a clean, plant based (but not strictly plant, if you don't want) diet, you can avoid all of the things your local news department worries about on air. I've never had a problem; ever. You'll notice that those people who abuse substances and create a bad reputation FOR that substance are the extremes. They have absolutely no self control, and probably deserve most of what they're doign to themselves.

Before using gateway substances, if you choose to, for whatever reason, first secure a clean, healthy diet that's based on fresh (preferably organic or locally grown) plant food. Drink plenty of fluids and make sure that you're sleeping enough and that your health is generally in check. By doing this, you build confidence in your ability to CONTROL your own actions, and so will be much less likely to abuse what things so many people are ignorant of.
