Whats the difference between stimulants, depressants, and hallucinogens and examples of each?

Someone didn't pay attention in health class-

Depressents slow down the Central Nervous System and example would be alchohol.

A Hallucinogens is something that screws up your mind.
An example would be meth.

A stimulant is something that SPEEDS up your central nervous system-An example would be cigarettes.

Er, somebody ELSE didn't pay attention in health class. Meth isn't a hallucinogen, it's a stimulant. An example of a hallucinogen would be LSD. (And to be more specific: a cigarette itself isn't a stimulant, but the nicotine inside of it is.) Report It
