Passive aggressiveness vs. Schizophrenia....?

A while ago i did a bunch of hallucinogens. Had bad trips and was surrounded by bad people. I developed symptoms very similar to schizophrenia. Over time and being around people that didnt mess with my head all of the time I am much better. One of my newer friends has had problems in the past and was actually admitted into a mental hospital for trying to commit suicide. Being commited goes down on your record and its a very touchy subject to bring up with him. He also happens to have a passive aggressive personality. I let it go but sometimes it angers me that he wont stand behind his actions and says im reading into things. We will fight, he will stop being aggressive for a while, then in time he will start again just to cause another fight. I believe that him stopping being a prick in the past is proof that he knows what he is doing wrong. Yet he sometimes tries to tell me im schizophrenic and need help.

A possible theory of mine is that he is miserable that he has been admitted himself and it would feel better to see someone else go through it. Also, he has depression and i believe that doing this is his way of making himself feel better but i shouldnt have to put up with it. At the same time we have a great friendship and love eachother very much and I would hate to see it end.

Well, as much as you love your friend, some friendships just aren't healthy. You put the distance needed between you and your druggie friends, and you should do the same with your friends who's mental issues are too toxic for you to be around. It is not selfish to get a healthy circle of friends for yourself. Good luck!
