What do blind people see?

When they take hallucinogens, i.e. LSD or mescaline?

I have had blind people tell me that they can see colors or shapes or light and dark. I don't know if what they consider color and shapes and what we consider color and shapes are the same but they do see something in their heads.

Stevie Wonder always said that he sees colors when he plays music.

They see a blank movie screen.

I would venture to say absolutely nothing. All of those hallucinogens alter your perceptions and since there is no visual perception, there would be no visual alteration.

Purely an assumption and from my own hallucinogenic expeirences.
I'd think they firstly would see stars or spirals, "worm holes"...squiggly patterns. Hard to explain, but i've seen things with my eyes closed while on hallicinogens that don't require me having seen such a thing before.

Best example is if you play music on windows media player or winamp, something like that and turn on the standard visualization package. What you see there is what i think a blind person would see.

THey'd probably also see what they percieve to be the world around them. Like one time i was in my kitchen looking into my living room then closed my eyes and put my head down. What i "saw" was the same view i had of my living room with my eyes open, but brad pitt was chilling on my sofa and drinking OJ out of the carton.

That is semi realistic, but on other occasions while doing harder hallicinogens like salvia, i saw things i've never seen before in my life with my eyes closed. Crazy undesribeable stuff.
