Anabolic steroids do not fall into any of the categories you mentioned and are controlled substances because of the abuse potential and not any specific "high" that a person gets from the drug. The anabolic steroids stimulate the biochemical processes that build body tissue, primarily muscle. The short term effects are mood changes, acne, and aggressive behavior. The long term effects are testicular atrophy (small balls) and LIVER CANCER. A lot of people who abuse these drugs die at young ages from the cancer. Onec a person has abused the steroids they are always at higher risk of the liver cancer. The higher the abuse, the more likely it will come. So, if you or anyone you know is using them, that person must stop. Common street names are deca-durabolin and oxandrolone.

5. There is no addiction. Withrawal signs are possible decrease in overall size and strength, but not too significant.
