Hair loss at young age?

I had a question about hair loss at young ages. I started losing my hair close to age 14. Despite physicians telling me there is nothing wrong but a genetic or stress related problem, I would actually like to know if there are any other possible causes of this aside from stress, and caffeine. And no I don't want links to places that will re-grow hair, they either don't work, or they cost thousands of dollars. I already realize that has a very small chance of growing back as I still continue to lose hair at age 22.

I would also like to know if anyone can refer me to some sites about it. Not hair loss in general but Young person's hair loss, and if this type of thing is common.

My first husband starting losing his hair at a very young age too and then it got drastically worse after he joined the military. He went through a million doctors telling him the same things that I'm sure you're hearing but he finally found a doctor that told him that because he was a active in sports during his High School years and usually wore a baseball hat that he believed this added to it. Then when he joined the military (and he always wore a hat)...he lost even more. The doctor said that it wasn't healthy for your hair to always be covered by a hat and that sometimes the rubbing from the hat could also be a factor. Do you wear hats alot? That just might be the cause. Good luck.

Hair loss can be caused by alopecia (spelling?), which is a condition that makes your hair stop growing and fall out. Or you could just have early hair loss. My brother had a thick mop of hair as a kid, but he was very thin on top by the time he was 30. One of my sisters started losing hair as a teen and has worn hairpieces since then. You might also ask your dermatologist to diagnose what could be wrong. And Rogaine may help, but not always.

it's genetics, baby....my fiance' is 26 and he is losing his hair...and his dad's hair is the same way....I don't believe there could be any other explaination, just as long as you are eating right....please don't let this get to you, because your life could be so much worse...I know that this is hard for you, but you are beautiful no matter what. I love my fiance' and I don't mind his thinning hair because I don't love his hair, I love him....And in the end, most men lose their hair....however, you should love yourself for who you are and there is a reason for everything...you might one day discover the way a man CAN grow his hair back...

its genetics more than likely they do have shampoosand cond that have been pr oven to regrow hair.they clean out your pours and add protein to the follicle to help it grow no harm in trying ask at any hairdresser shop.as for the women no worries there u will see .

according to this you might be able to....

DHT is the chemical that shrinks hair follicles, and it is a by-product of male hormone... I heard...
I heard there are medications out there that help hair growing with the use of female hormone.
Another reason of hair loss is possibly related to blood circulation, so some people will rub their head with XO or Brandy to stimulate blood circulation.

Genetic also plays a big role. So if your family member has a history of hair loss, your physician will tell you that it is the genetic factor.

Chinese medicine believes that hair loss is because of insufficient blood supply to the hair follicle, they knwo some herb can help improve that, also Acupuncture is said to be helpful.

There are a lot of superstition out there regarding that, but I think if you have a good personality with a good heart, people don't really care about your hair.
