Dandruff and Hair Loss? |
Can a mild to modrate case of dandruff result in generalized hair loss? I have never heard that dandruff can cause excessive hair loss but my Dr. said to try T-gel shampoo and if this doesn't help in 2 weeks shes going to prescribe Minoxidil and I have used this shampoo for 1 week now and haven't really noticed a big change in the amount of hair I am losing which is very excessive. As far as dandruff goes, use anti-dandruff shampoo like head and shoulders. For hair loss, if you use hot water to wash your hair, it could burn your hair roots and make them fall out. plus it makes the moisture in your hair decrease. Depending on where you live, you can buy this shampoo by the brand of Segals, and it helps hair roots grow and your existing hair roots stronger, so you have a healthier amount of hair. you should try head and shoulders shampoo its for dandruff and realllyy worked on me. =] I don't believe Dandruff causes hair loss. I lost a lot of hair for like two months and was freaking out. Come to find out I was malnourished. And I was pregnant so the baby was taking what little bit of vitamins I had. Make sure you are eating healthy and perhaps get some vitamins. I would take a prego test if that is a possiblity at all. And vitamins, vitamins, vitamins. Havent you tried the classical remedy, Head and shoulders....it has a new hydrazinc formula, which is very effective (at least in my case) |

Sorry that this is happening to you, but this is a good question. First, you need to LOOK at the hair that has fallen out to determine the cause. Brush your hair as you normally would.
