Hypothyroid? Should hair grow back when therapy kicks in? |
I have hypothyroid disease and one of the symptoms is hair loss - been on meds for a few years and the hair loss isn't getting much better. It may grow back if you get your TSH to around 1.0. If it does not, then its quite possible you need both T4 and T3. That was the case for me. Once I got on Armour gettin my Free T4 midrange and my Free T3 high in range the hairloss stopped. It helped with most of my other hypo symptoms as well. Talk to your doctor, I am on synthroid and it doesn't affect my hair No, your hair will never grow back when you stop the meds. I would suggest shaving your head. Yes. Your hair will stop falling out once your T3 and T4 levels are normal again. |
