What does it mean when you are Losing some of your hair?

I seen several different doctors last week.....And they think i have staph infection and an auto immune disease........One doc...asked if i was losing some of my hair...i said yes. especially when i wet my hair....What could this be?

Also what does it mean if your skin is blotchy? a doc....metioned that my hands arms and feet were really blotchy and they shouldnt be....what does it mean?

I is going to up front and honest with you.
I suffer from a condition called Lupus. It is an auto immunity disease that has got many different symptoms.
These can include hair loss - I aint talking complete alapecia (baldness), but enough that you notice. I get that, especially when my hair is wet.
Now you also mentioned your skin was blotchy. What do you blotchy? One of the main reasons I went to the doctors in the first place is due to a rash I had on my chest and arms. They were not painful or itchy, just not nice to look at. They were also slightly doughnut shaped.
If I were you I would go back to your doctors and ask top have a skin biopsy done.
I obvioulsy don't want to scare you, but you did mention in yoru question that your doctor did say it could be an auto - immunity disease (like lupus) and the symptoms that you have mentioned are some of the sypmtoms also associated with lupus.
I wish you all the very best. If it does turn out to be lupus, there are quite a few websites that you can look at to get more information, advice and also support. Here is one I use - www.lupus.co.uk

All the best x

have your thyroid checked.

It could be stress. Also check into it being alopecia.

We are all losing our hair,it's part of life, and it's how new hair is grown. The M.D. should have ask if you have noticed any thinning or bald spots in you hair. It could be related to the meds you on for staph infection or many of the autoimmune diseases cause hair loss such as lupus. Find a doctor that is willing to find the proper diagnosis and not just had you a script for some meds and send you on your way. Also find a good homeopathic medicine doctor in your area and see them about the autoimmune issues.
