Eating hair: Fad or addiction?

is eating hair dangerous to your health? if so is it because of its addictive qualities or because it makes you super cool? How many children across America have suffered from this mental disease? And why can't they stop if its so unhealthy?

I wouldn't call it a disease but It is an addiction. I used to eat my hair for 6 years before I found bubble gum :)
I know it might sound cheap but bubble gum really did help my hair problem. Dont worry about this, you will grow out of it. It took my mother 13 years but she still got there!

Neither, its a compulsion , poss a symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OR possibly just a habit.

fad or addiction? how about disgusting
