Does anybody know of any successful treatments or cures for hair pullers? |
a friend of mine has been suffering in silence from this "disease" for a long time, but she is too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it. i only found out recently because i actually observed her in the act. she hides it very well though and insists she only does it occasionally, like when she's stressed. but her hair seems to be a lot thinner now than about 6 months ago and i'm getting worried. some ocd meds can help with that a lot..i also have this problem but have been able to cut back a lot because i lost all my hair to cancer treatment and found being bald so disturbing that i am able to resist the urge to pull my hair now that its grown back..now obviously im not suggesting that your friend shave off her hair or anything it's called trichotillomania and i have it too,but i don't know what to do about it except to try to keep busy and as unstressed as possible and wear a hat |
