HRT after the menopause?

Could anyone explain about HRT? And is it necessary or just for those who need it after or during the menopause?

Its used by many to allay the symptoms of the menopause, and in the UK seems to be given out to anyone who wants it!
The site below gives a more detailed ex[planation if you are interested...;

HRT has been linked to breast cancer. My doctor who is a gynecological oncoligist as well as a gynocologist would not give it to me. He stated they are only using it sparingly in the worst of cases. I never took it and have had no problems. I have been lucky without hot flashes or mood swings.

You have to be careful about bone loss.you do need something during and after because as you get older you will suffer bone loss quicker and HRT is the best way to ensure you are getting what you need!

HRT has its place I was on it for 10 years and felt great but did have panicky feelings and anxiety that is why I went on it, they say it causes breast cancer, but every drug causes something.

I tried it where i had no period for 2 years i started getting them again yuk.also before that happened my breasts went so large they hurt and that lasted for about a week .I only went on the H.R.T.to get rid of the flushes and night sweats.Now i would rather cope with the sweats and flushes H.R.T.has also had bad press about breast cancer,so think and read up on it as you are obviously doing good luck.

you take it to replace the hormones lost after menopause. great stops hot flushes, better skin,you are not so dried up. but beware,,,,,,, as soon as you come off it, you get all the hot flushes etc, as your body gets rid of the false hormones. best to take herbal tablets, designed for women after menopause.
all so increases clots and breast cancer.don't you think its best to get old as God intends us to. life happens.

HRT is Hormone Replacement Theropy in available in pills does not stop periods permanently can lead to wait gain and mood swings etc.

I have been on it for years early menopause at 37 did have to try a few till the correct one suited me I don't take a lot of notice about the cancer thing they say you can get it from almost anything nowadays

the following leaflet gives an excellent summary and also gives real figures relating to risks. information constantly updated by doctors with specialist interest so reliable
