Hpv???????? |
I have recently been diagnosed with hpv. I am scheduled to go to the gyno in a few weeks to have a procedure done where they remove part of my cervix to see how bad the hpv is. I do not remember what the procedure was called. can anyone explain this more for me? how is it? do I need recovery time? It's probably a colposcopy. Don't worry ... years ago they saw pap results that indicated I had HPV, did a big colposcopy, and everything came back fine. No more HPV either, after 15 years! You can ask people here, maybe they can help you. It's probably electrocauterization. They will cut a little bit of inside flesh to remove the affected cells and clean the inside, then the Dr will cauterize the inside or burn the cut area. There is a little pain, some blood since they cut the inside. After the procedure is done, you will go home and lay down. Next day you will be fine. It might get rid of the dysplacia, but the virus is still there. You should keep eating healthy and inmune system well. The virus might come back when your inmune system is down. Read more about it and research about alternative medicine, such as green tea, folic acid. Take care. read on here: http://www.alternativemedicine.com/commo... My sister just had that test done. It's called a colposcopy, where they examine the cervix using a bright light and magnification. A biopsy is when they remove a piece of your cervix for testing. You'll be a little sore but it shouldnt be anything major. The process itself wont be much fun either, but you should be fine within a day or 2. You must be referring to a colposcopy. I just had one done today. It's was NOT painful at all during the procedure but afterward I have had some mild cramps. You will have some bleeding afterward if the Dr. does a biopsy like mine did, for up to seven days. You'll have to use a pad instead of a tampon and refrain from sex for one week. Google colposcopy and you'll find a lot of information. Good luck! |
