HPV and a relationship? |
I have recently found out that I have HPV high. I am currently living with my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. I felt I had a beautiful life with him and tranquility. I was thinking of a future with him and possible children with him too. However, since this whole HPV thing I have been distant from him, depressed and crying during my times alone in the house thinking I am going to die. My pap smear is normal but my HPV test showed I have a high HPV. I go through moments where I am fine and next I am crying because I am scared I will lose my life to this virus. I have been taking Vitamin B- Complex and Folic Acid to help my immune system. I am frightened as if I have Cervical Caner. Probably because I lost my father to prostate cancer is probably why I am even more terrified. I am having problems dealing with this. Hi Niki...I too have HPV, and I am engaged to the man (who I think) passed it to me. chill chill chill.... your doctor should have let you know you arent going to die or anywhere close to it... you have to go through so many years of untreated bad papsmears to get cancer (it takes years and years).... you do know however this is sexually transmitted. it will not affect him... also dont blame this on him it could be from years ago with another partner... ease your mind and do some online research ..... YOU ARE GOING TO BE FINE, THIS VIRUS CORRECTS ITSELF....unless you have HIV or AIDS you dont need to worry... If I were you, I'd probably go talk to a doctor and especially a therapist who specializes in dealing with these type of issues. I would also use the Internet to find more information about what I could do to learn to cope with it. I would even go as far as to look for others online who already have HPV and see what kinda strategies they use to cope with it as well. I understand the pain and loneliness you are feeling due to learning about this. The best advise I can offer is to just try and relax, many people in the world have these types of illnesses and you are not alone. It is unlikely you will lose your life to this virus, or that you have cervical cancer, but I commend the fact that you are interested in learning more about it and doing everything you can to combat the possibility. It is much more likely that you would survive if you did happen to have cervical cancer due to this. |
