Is hpv linked to cheating?

I had an abnomral pap a few months ago but no signs of hpv. My doctor indicated that hpv is normally the cause of an abnomral pap, and so I may have had hpv before my test and then it may have cleared on it's own, but could have caused the abnormal pap. So I got to thinking, if I may have had hpv, (causing my abnormal pap) then did I contract it from my boyfriend? If I had just the one partner, what are the chances that he caught hpv from soneone else and gave it to me?

I did ask my boyfriend if he had been with anyone else, and he said no, but then again, who'd say yes? So really it's up to me to use educated judgement and facts to figure this out.

An abnormal Pap smear can be caused by factors other than the presence of a high-risk HPV type. When a Pap test comes back as "abnormal," it means just that: Under the microscope, the appearance of a few cells in this sample differs in some way from the classic appearance of healthy, intact cervical cells. The difference could be due to local irritation, a non-HPV infection, a low-risk HPV type, or even a mistake in the preparation of the cell sample

The first thing you need to know is that if you have sex with a person who currently has an outbreak of the virus or has recently had an outbreak, the chances of your contracting HPV are quite high. Condoms are NOT a reliable method of protection against HPV

More than 100 different types of HPV exist, most of which are harmless. About 30 types are spread through sexual contact and are classified as either low risk or high risk. Some types of HPV cause genital warts-single or multiple bumps that appear in the genital areas of men and women including the vagina, cervix, vulva (area outside of the vagina), penis, and rectum. These are considered low risk types. High-risk types of HPV may cause abnormal Pap smear results and could lead to cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina, anus, or penis. Many people infected with HPV have no symptoms

So to answer your question It is a STD, So yea he could have given it to you, From either a previous relationship, or even from cheating.

You both need to be checked for all std's

BE SAFE

yes

Well it is a possibility that he could have cheated. But it is also a possibility that he caught it before he met you and did not know that he had it and then passed it to you.

Some but not all HPV are sexually transmitted. And the ones which are sexually transmitted can take several years to detect. That is why the HPV vaccine is being recommended to young girls, before they have been sexually active. So, if the HPV is one that is sexually transmitted, one of you has been with another partner at sometime in you life. Not necessarily recently.

there is a 50/50 chance. we all carry hpv in our system and it is activated by the way we treat our body... so it is normal to have it. our body normally gets rid of it naturally. but you can also get it from someone else. So, you should both get checked just to make sure you have a healthy relationship.

First, there is no test for man. May he have had it but never know about this. Some warts is invisble.

He might be infect you but do not know this. You can be infected by skin to skin contact with infected area, expecially for genital area.

you probally got it from him..but did u know that u don't even have to have sex to get this..he could have just been fooling around naked with someone and get this..also some strains are found outside of the genitals but still live in the skin..like our hands feet arms face stomach and so on...so some strains are so contagious

Some could say it's linked to cheating but the bottom line is how you feel about your boyfriend and the trust you have. I'm sure you've done your homework so you know that you can have HPV for years and years without knowing it. Your boyfriend may have given it to you after getting it from a previous partner or if you had a previous partner before your boyfriend you could have got it from him.
Of course when you get the diagnosis it makes you feel like hell and you question yourself as well as your current relationship. But if you know deep down that your boyfriend would not cheat it helps you to except the fact that these things happen and HPV is so so so common.
Please don't feel bad about yourself, read up about it and you will feel a lot better.

You may have an abnormal PAP for various causes. First: ASCUS it means that something is abnormal but we don't know its significance. Sometimes is because of HPV. But many tiems is related to recent intercourse, inflamation due to creams/gels/ infections as candida or bacterial vaginosis, etc.
When what you have is a SIL, then that is more likely to be from HPV. It could be low or high grade SIL. From what you say it seems you just had an ASCUS. Repeat it in 6 months, or have a special test to detect if you actually have one of the most dangerous types of HPV's ( most gyn would do this automatically, anyways).
Also, remember HPV may remain latent for years in your cervical cells, having many PAP's negative but having the HPV from before you even met your boyfriend and also he could have contracted it many years ago.
So don't blame him for cheating, unless you have other signs that he is doing it.

You go, Girl! You do have it figurered out. Trust no one, and I know that sounds really harsh..............but, when it is your health, trust your doctor!
