HPV and cryosurgery? |
I was diagnosed with HPV a year ago. I am currently engaged and I was with another guy who gave me hpv. The guy that I am with now probably has hpv. I was treated with cryosurgery and we started to have unprotected sex when my pap smear came back normal. Could I be re-infected. He probably has hpv but he doesn't have anything else. Could I still get re-infected with the same hpv virus that cryosurgery got rid of? Absolutely...If he has HPV it is always possible you do as well. HPV can be a little different in men. The most common symptom in men is condaloma that usually appears on the shaft of the penis or on the exterior or interior of the rectum. Like many other sexually transmitted diseases, it is important to be treated at the same time or use protection until both people are sure they no longer have the disease. Remember that HPV in men has not been studied to the extent that it had with women. An infectious disease doctor is your best bet to correctly identify any cauliflower like growth if he has any. Also HPV is a virus that will always be in you body. Now would be the time for him to do a close inspection of his penis, scrotum, and anus for any pumps even tiny ones. You will always have hpv its just a matter of "flare ups". The cyro just essentially cleaned the surface. He probabbly has it , but is not showing any signs of it. |
