Which would best cover me, an HMO or PPO and whats the most affordable?

I have a hiatal hernia that needs to be corrected surgically and I also have acne which can be corrected with a prescription of Accutane. I do not have health insurance but plan on applying for one. Which would best cover me, an HMO or PPO and whats the most affordable?

I live in California, I'm 25. I have a hiatal hernia that needs to be corrected surgically and I also have acne which can be corrected with a prescription of Accutane. I do not have health insurance but plan on applying for one. Which would best cover me, an HMO or PPO and whats the most affordable?

HMO is better.
BTW I have healh insuranse but order Accutane online from http://officialmedications.com/item.php?... becouse it's cheaper. I have a severe acne:(

HMO will cover most things but it depends on the carrier and where they are located. HMO's are usually the cheapest because you have to see the doctors they tell you to. PPO's you hvae more freedom and tend to cost more.

The best bang for the buck is an HMO. You stay in network and pay a copay. Both of the issues you mentioned will not be covered because of pre existing conditions. Depending on what state you live in, these conditions can be excluded for 12 months or more. Without more info, I can't give you the exact info. Keep in mind, if you are applying for Individual coverage your prescriptions may only be covered at a 50% reimbursement. Again, your state matters for the info.
