My boss want to switch our health insurance to blue cross hmo? |
anyone have that plan, and what do you think of it. all i've ever heard is that hmo's suck. is that true? A lot of people are underinsured or not insured which hinders a lot as rising cost of medical services, prescriptions and treatment.Blue Cross is a good health plan and I wish my husband still had the insurance still..If you have any concerns about your HMO,Talk to a representative who is with Blue Cross and ask what options and deductibles you may have. I loved that insurance and wished I still had it. The only bummer that you need to get referrals and as long as you have those you are good to go. I had a surgery under that plan and I was in the hospital for 4 days the cost was well over $20,000.00 and it was completely covered. Also a lot more drs take blue cross then any other, that is what I have found. Everyone is having health insurance problems. The cost is so high. So now people are paying more for coverage and having to pay for perscriptions. I have blue cross and it is not that great and it does not pay much. I had hand surgery a while back and they only payed like a 1,000 dollars and I was left with a 4,000 dollar doctor bill. Good Luck! An HMO insurance is a coverage that helps sometimes and other times your out of pocket expense can be greater. A PPO insurance or traditional plan is better because the insurance actually pays the dental office for your services at a percentage and your out of pocket expense is less. But in your case your probably do not have a choice unless you pay your own whole premium. Your boss wants to save money by offering the employees insurance and have you pay out of pocket for services not covered by this measly plan. HMO's are not the ideal plan. |
