I just got my HMO insurance packet. How do I go about finding a great doctor/dentist from the extensive list?

Since you have an HMO , I presume this is thru your employer. Ask around at work for opinions of your co-workers. and another thing...you may find that some of the docs in the lists are not currently taking new patients...they are maxed out. Word of mouth is generally the best way to find out which docs are well-liked.

Ask around for recommendations. Read you city magazine the list The Top 10 Doctors, i.e. Miami Magazine, Dallas Magazine, etc.. Another tid bit, wait until JAN. 2007 which is less then 30 days as you will have a yearly detectable and you want this appointment to count towards that, other wise you will end up paying 100% of the bill if you do it now.
